Winter Baby

Here is my sweet little baby...all geared up for winter! She is finally at the age where she can take off the hats in a hurry - but sometimes if you distract her, they stay on for a few minutes:)

Magazine Bows

I saw this tutorial on making your own bows from magazine pages and i can't stop....I don't even know what I am making them for but they just turn out so cool that I keep making more. Someday I will find a purpose...maybe birthday presents throughout the year...

Olivia's Christmas Wrapping

So since Olivia isn't even a year yet, I figure much of her Christmas joy will come from playing in the wrapping paper for all of her gifts.  With this in mind, I wanted to find some fun and special stuff for her.  Take a look at what I got so far (all from Target)- I LOVE it! I especially think she'll like the furry ribbon and shiny dots:)

New Work Space

I LOVE my new workspace! It was a struggle to finally complete it but it's done! The 6 drawer file (IKEA $119) is the best thing ever and fits my jewels and supplies perfectly! The modern desk (Ikea $124) fits our new condo perfectly and I also love the picture ledge I that holds my chains so conveniently at eye level (West Elm $35).  There's nothing like a comfortable and lovely place to work!

Fuchsia Trunk Show!

We had so much fun at the Fuchsia Trunk Show last night. Harlow, Minoux , and Lulu were featured and we had a great turn out!

Olive's First Dress

This was the first dress I bought for Olivia when I was 5 months pregnant. It was a splurge from Tea Collection at $39 but looks so sweet on her now that she can wear it.  I love her so much, it hurts.

Dad's T shirt Dress for Baby

Look at this amazing dress an old friend of mine made for her baby girl out of an OLD T SHIRT! She posted it on her sweet blog.  She got the tutorial from Happy Together, which is becoming one of my new favorites! I am really hoping to get a sewing machine for my birthday in Sept, and this is added to my growing list of projects I plan to do!

Our House is for Lease!

Because of the market dipping so depressingly low, we aren't able to sell our home. So now we are leasing it! It's an updated beautiful 1910 home with lots of original charm. 4 bed/2bath, 2300 sqft. We're hoping we can find a nice family or perhaps some nice roommates:) I had to take pictures on cleaning day - how do you think it turned out?

Getting So Big!

Olive is getting so big, so fast! She is already 7 months. She's looking more and more like a little girl every day.

Olive's New Ride

Olivia got a new bike trailer and we can finally go on family rides together! It's been one of the best purchases we've ever made -well worth the money!

Adorable Toddler Tutu Skirt

Oatmeal Brulee!

I love getting this delicious treat when we are out to breakfast and I found a homemade recipe in this month's Cookie Magazine! You don't even need a torch - just put it under the broiler for some serious breakfast goodness:)

Directions:

After cooking your oatmeal add a pinch of salt, some honey or brown sugar, then nuts/rasins/berries whatever you like.  Then finish it with a layer of sugar (1/8 in thick) and put it under the broiler for a few minutes until it's brown and bubbling vigorously.

High Chair Success

I was all ready to get the big high chair because Olivia is outgrowing her Bumbo when it comes to eating.  The one I was looking at was the $150 Zen Collection high chair.  Then it occurred to me that I don't really want a big 'ol high chair taking up yet more space in our baby gear filled house. Plus, $150 bucks is a lot of money. I am so happy with my decision to get a $25 Ikea high chair that is about 1/3 of the size! Why spend so much on something you don't want - that takes up too much space!? Olivia loves it too, she's been having a ball in it! I made my first batch of organic locally grown baby food yesterday and I'm so happy that she loves it:)
