Here It Is!

Here is the finished cover! This was my first project with my new sewing machine! I have a back log of so many projects that I want to do, and this one jumped to the top of the list when we needed a baby chair. I ended up cutting the old one open and pouring in the stuffing. It's shaped nicely for the photo, but it probably needs a little more cushion because it's a little flat when you don't shape it. I maybe should have sprung the extra $7 for the pattern (yes, I attempted it with no pattern - I was feeling thrifty) but it works anyway. It took me an hour to get started because I kept threading the sewing machine incorrectly (it was jamming up) but I finally looked up a how-to video on YouTube on threading, and voila! it worked! :)

New Project! - Bean Bag Cover for Olive

So, bean bags are pretty dorky and ugly (just sayin) but we wanted something for Olive to be able to climb into and hang out without risk of falling etc...So what better than a nice cushy bean bag? The problem is that a. no one really sells bean bags these days, and b. the ones we could find don't exactly go with our decor. So, I decided to just grab this one and recover it. I bought some really fabulous recycled felt today for the project. I envisioned more of a creamy brownish gray but they didn't have that, so I settled with a mossy olive green. I got tan, chocolate and orange felt as well to make flowers and leaves. It's pretty cute in my head, so we'll see how it turns out! Stay tuned for the results...

We're Back!

And I am finally getting back into my harlow groove! My new work area is set up and I just had to play a little before I filled orders.  I made this one of a kind vintage necklace.  I think it looks sort of princess-y.  This Anthropologie dress would go perfectly!

All Dressed Up and No Where To Go!

Rookie Parent Alert! I was so excited to take Olivia to the Easter egg hunts on Easter! She would have a blast. I had my eye on the event at the zoo, complete with a petting zoo...Too bad all of the Easter egg events were on SATURDAY and not on Easter sunday. I had no idea. She wore her pretty dress anyway and played with her Easter basket and empty eggs:( At least I will have it down for next year when she actually will understand what is going on.
