Welcome Home Party

Some of our good friends had a wonderful welcome home party for us this past weekend.  It was so great to see everyone again and know we are back where we belong.  This is one of many family photos we tried taking but Olivia had been playing all day by this time and wasn't up for the photos.  This is as good as it gets...

Converted Garage

I came across this garage conversion reading Stephmodo's blog last week.  My boyfriend and I loved it so much that it's inspired us to want to convert our garage.  We are thinking of making the main level into a work studio for me, and the upper loft into a guest bedroom.  This is, of course, a future project (as in years away) but I'm already excited! I don't know how she does it - so gorgeous, talented, down to earth, amazing work and all while being a mother of MULTIPLE children (I can't imagine even more than one - serious admiration to all the mamas out there that do it all!).....it's inspiring!

Here It Is!

Here is the finished cover! This was my first project with my new sewing machine! I have a back log of so many projects that I want to do, and this one jumped to the top of the list when we needed a baby chair. I ended up cutting the old one open and pouring in the stuffing. It's shaped nicely for the photo, but it probably needs a little more cushion because it's a little flat when you don't shape it. I maybe should have sprung the extra $7 for the pattern (yes, I attempted it with no pattern - I was feeling thrifty) but it works anyway. It took me an hour to get started because I kept threading the sewing machine incorrectly (it was jamming up) but I finally looked up a how-to video on YouTube on threading, and voila! it worked! :)
